Our Process

A clear process, from kickoff to launch.

You will always know what happens next, what we need from you, and when the site goes live. Work is handled in-house with direct communication and clear milestones.

Timelines vary based on responsiveness and content readiness.

At a glance

How we move from brief to launch

  • Step-by-step milestones with clear handoffs
  • Hard stops when we are waiting on client inputs
  • Owner-led communication from kickoff through maintenance
  • Updates after launch follow the same simple request process

Step 1

Kickoff and design brief

We start by defining the goal of the site, the pages, and the content we need. This keeps the build focused and prevents scope drift.

Key outcomes

  • Confirm the page list and site structure
  • Collect brand assets and reference examples
  • Define the primary call-to-action and contact paths
  • Agree on timeline and review schedule

What we need from you

  • Logo and brand assets, if you have them
  • Business details, services, hours, and contact info
  • Examples of sites you like and why

Hard stop

We do not start design until the design brief is approved and the required assets are received.

Step 2

Content and site structure

We map each page to a simple purpose and draft the layout structure around your message. This is where we make sure the site reads clearly on mobile and desktop.

Key outcomes

  • Final page outline with section headings per page
  • Draft copy support where needed for clarity
  • Navigation and call-to-action placement confirmed
  • Contact form fields confirmed, if included

What we need from you

  • Final copy or rough notes for each page
  • Service list and any required disclaimers

Hard stop

We pause when we are waiting on page content or approvals.

Step 3

Design direction and first draft

We produce the first design draft for the homepage and set the visual direction. Once the direction is approved, the rest of the pages follow the same system.

Key outcomes

  • Homepage design draft
  • Typography and spacing system
  • Component styles for buttons, sections, cards, and forms
  • Mobile and desktop layout confirmation

Review rules

  • One focused revision pass based on consolidated feedback
  • Feedback must be sent as a single list

Hard stop

We do not move to build until the design direction is approved.

Step 4

Build and implementation

We build the website with clean structure and best practices. Pages are responsive by default and built to load fast.

Key outcomes

  • Responsive implementation for all pages
  • Basic on-page SEO structure in place
  • Forms wired up, if included
  • Staging link provided for review

What we need from you

  • Review feedback within the agreed review window
  • Any final content or images that were missing

Hard stop

We pause when we are waiting on review feedback.

Step 5

Pre-launch checks and go-live

Before launch we run a final pass so the site is ready for real traffic. Then we point your domain and publish.

Key outcomes

  • Cross-device checks
  • Performance pass and basic accessibility checks
  • Domain, SSL, and hosting configured

What we need from you

  • Domain registrar access or DNS changes approval
  • Final approval to launch

Hard stop

Launch happens only after final approval.

Step 6

Ongoing updates and maintenance

After launch, changes follow a simple process. You send updates by email or message. We implement and publish.

Key outcomes

  • Updates handled through direct communication
  • Maintenance and publishing for hosted sites
  • Monthly plan includes unlimited edits per month (reasonable ongoing changes)
  • Updates are handled with care, so the site stays clean and consistent over time

What we need from you

  • Clear change requests, preferably grouped together
  • Any new photos or text you want added

Hard stop

For one-time build clients, changes are billed separately.
